Grosmont is ideally located as a base from which to explore the North Yorkshire Moors and coast.It offers a wide range of activities, something for everyone!

It is the terminus of The North Yorkshire Moors Railway, which runs between Pickering and Whitby stopping at beautiful moorland villages along the way.

A trip to the historic port of Whitby is a must. Explore the cliff-top abbey then wander down the 199 steps to the narrow streets of the old town where you will find plenty of small shops and places to stop for a coffee or maybe fish and chips!

The North Yorkshire Moors are a haven for walkers, cyclists, wildlife enthusiasts and those who just want to enjoy the tranquil surroundings.

Further afield, there are historic houses and gardens to explore….Rievaulx Abbey, Nunnington Hall, Duncombe Park and the walled garden at Helmsley amongst them or even a trip to York for the day.The possibilities are endless!
